UPPER GI ENDOSCOPY

Upper GI Endoscopy A procedure done with an endoscope to study upper gastro intestinal tract which includes food pipe(Esophagus), stomach and initial few centimetres of small intestine. This procedure typically takes about 2-5 minutes and usually done without sedation. However, in an occasional apprehensive patient or if an additional procedure is clubbed, sedation can be given.

LOWER GI ENDOSCOPY
(COLONOSCOPY)

A procedure done with a colonoscope to study the entire large intestine and terminal portion of small intestine. This procedure takes about 5-15 minutes. Most of the times it is done without sedation, but can be done under sedation on patient’s request.

A special endoscope uses high-frequency sound waves to produce detailed images of the lining and walls of your digestive tract and chest, nearby organs such as the pancreas and liver, and lymph nodes.
